Member Meeting: Plant-Based Eating: Choosing Sustainable Foods that Support your Health,the Environment, and Local Agriculture

Please join us as we hostĀ Elizabeth Hall, MS, RD, LD on Tuesday, January 19, from 3-4 PM EST.
Bio: Elizabeth Hall has been practicing as a dietitian for seven years working in clinical care, food service, behavioral health, and business/retail. She is currently the Corporate Registered Dietitian for K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc., the parent company to Food City supermarkets. In this role, she works with the Healthy Initiatives team and marketing to serve as a health and nutrition resource by providing education and media interviews as well as developing content and forging partnerships with health educators and organizations in store communities.

Objectives:
- Describe a plant-based eating pattern and why this eating pattern is beneficialĀ for health.
- Explain how plant-based eating patterns impact environmental sustainability as well as how supporting local and sustainable agricultural practices can, in turn, impact the environment.
- Dispel at least one common myth related to plant agriculture or safety.
- Identify at least one actionable goal to make your eating pattern or that of your client(s) more plant-based and/or sustainable.
